Introduction Brick Laboratories Unani manufactures naturopathic (herbal) medicines from raw herbs and sells its products ethically, which means sale on prescription only. It is situated in Lahore at 12th Km Multan Road. It has almost 12000 sq ft. covered area. Area is quiet good and suitable for the manufacturing of herbal medicines. History Brick Laboratories (Unani) was founded in 1978, by her founder Mr. Shuja Ullah, Who did his graduation in Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) in 1965 from one of the leading University of Pakistan. He worked for many reputable pharmaceutical companies in the department of marketing & sales as well as in production. He felt after a wide experience of pharmaceutical marketing the need of naturopathic (herbal) drugs for safe, effective treatment of the sick humanity. He started manufacturing drugs from documented, well researched and clinically trialed medicinal herbs, which were for the first time in Pakistan, marketed strictly on ethical principal i.e. prescription sale only. It was a really difficult task to convince a qualified physician to prescribe a herbal drug but by the grace of Allah, all the technical material was presented in such a scientific way that a positive response was observed. Brick laboratories started its products in following sequence… Vigtab forte tablets were the first product manufactured in 1978. Colic syrup & drops was the second product manufactured in 1980. Femina syrup was launched in 1983-84. Pepcer syrup & tablets were marketed in 1985-86. Garlicon (enteric coated) tablets in 1990-91. Belrina tablets were launched in 2002-1. Y-Lin syrup was launched in 2002-3. Imunol syrup was launched in 2006-7. Today almost all of the physicians are familiar and prescribing the naturopathic remedies of Brick Laboratories all over the Pakistan. Each and every formulation which has been marketed or under trials comprises of the medicinal herbs estimated, tested, trialed, and approved for the consumption of human beings with minimum undesirable effects and maximum beneficial therapeutic activity. To be updated and in touch with latest research we are attached to the British Herbal Medicine Association (BHMA) and American Botanical Council (ABC) as well as we are subscribed to the research journals like Phytomedicine, herbalgram, B.J.Phyto. etc. It is also an important consideration to present the product witch is more cost effective and easily approachable, to achieve this target we adopt new, energetic and ethical promotional techniques as well as training sessions of the sales staff on new product and existing product updates. All our marketing managers are provided with reference manuals (keeps updated references on all the products), to be well versed and technically sound in their field. We are in collaboration with leading research organizations for carrying out all our QC tests, for the apparatuses; we don’t have within our premises right now. We have standardized our two products as under Garlicon enteric coated tablets standardized on Allicin contents. Vigtab plus vegetable capsules standardized on protodioscin contents.
